"You will be made rich
in every way so that you can be generous on every
occasion, and through us your generosity will
result in thanksgiving to God. This service that
you perform is not only supplying the needs of
God's people but is also overflowing in many
expressions of thanks to God". 2 Corinthians
9:11-12.
CUPS and its Board of Directors give
thanks to our Lord for all the assistance sent our
way this year. Without the help of our supporters,
we would not be able to have the impact that we do
in Mexico and the Valley.

Faces that give
thanks. |
Here are some of the ways the
families and children in Mexico join to give
thanks for the blessings our supporters continued
to provide to help our neighbors along the
border.
- Children with limited access to
books give thanks for the books provided to
enrich their small school libraries.
- Senior citizens give thanks for
a walker or a wheelchair that enables their
mobility.
- Parents who receive a warm coat
for their child give thanks to those who
remembered cold weather needs.
- Parents give thanks for warm and
beautiful quilts made by hands far from their
village homes and delivered especially for their
children.
- Special education students who
receive school packets with necessary supplies
give thanks to their donors.
- People with limited mobility
give thanks to those who fund, build, and
transport each PETthat enables them to be more
mobile and economically self-sufficient.
- Parents who care for a child
with significant special education problems give
thanks for the diapers and the liquid
drinksproviding nutritional supplements for
their child.
- Teachers helping their students
begin to learn to read and write give thanks for
the reusable white slate boards put in the hands
of their young pupils.
- Parents, teachers, and students
give thanks to those who donate computers for
use in schools. Such big smiles on the
faces of the students when they talk about their
computer class.
- The gift of a Bible to a poor
family struggling to cloth and feed their
children results in words of appreciation and I
always wish we had more!
Children and their parents, senior
citizens and those facing challenges of health and
mobility continue to need your support next
year. The CUPS' Thanksgiving is filled with
many friends in both countries who join together
to make life better for others. This includes the
many organizations here in the U.S. and in Mexico
who marshal their love for others as our Lord asks
of us.
So my Thanksgiving will be filled
with appreciation to each of you who continue to
support CUPS, answering the often expressed
statement from our Mexican friends "No nos olvide"
(Do not forget us). My response is "How can
we forget your faith, your determination to care
for your family and your community in spite of
such limited resources." My joy for
Thanksgiving is the sum of each of you, the many,
who do not forget the needs of those we serve. As
I began with 2 Corinthians 9:10-11, I return to
this scripture: "This service that you perform is
not only supplying the needs of God's people but
is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks
to God." Thanksgiving is not a single day but
lasts each day, every week, and all year or
24/7/365.
You may not receive or read this until
after Thanksgiving but that is OK.
Thanksgiving is a daily act. With my
appreciation for all the blessings
sent.
